Negotiation of large project finance and construction projects worldwide

• Commercial and contractual advice to Severn Trent Water International in achieving financial close of Project Aquatrine Package C PFI contract.
• Successfully re-negotiated Power Purchase Agreement with Indonesian authorities for $1.7bn Paiton II project
• Negotiated and implemented temporary financing agreements across $1.2bn debt facilities to continue project and long term debt rescheduling across diverse lender group
• Successfully developed £300m Csepel II CCGT project in Hungary from inception to financial close, including PPA, fuel supply and financing arrangements. (First IPP contracts in Hungary and one of first such projects in central Europe)
• Negotiated turnkey construction project for Tapada do Outeira CCGT project in Portugal
• Successfully led negotiation and placement of major turnkey contracts for Powergen’s UK build programme, including 3 large CCGT projects and Ratcliffe FGD project

Managing complex projects with multi-discipline teams and establishing effective working relationships

• Led multi-discipline team for Csepel II development, including specialist engineering, legal and finance resource
• Established successful relationship with JV partners for Paiton and Tapada projects
• Successfully integrated commercial function with engineering project teams in achieving Powergen’s new build programme
• As Procurement strategy manager, significantly improved working relationships between group function and operational units

“Ambassadorial” role – experience of representing my organisation at a high level, with other companies and at government level

• Interface with Government Ministers and Heads of State utilities in both Hungary and Indonesia
• Established effective relationships with Hungarian government departments, Hungarian Energy Office and local authority
• Liaison with British embassies in Indonesia and Hungary

Asset management

• Direction and review of asset business plans, including acting as shareholder representative to oversee day to day management
• General manager of Coast to Coast Water Ltd and setting up of project company
